Facial Symmetry Test
Measure paired left/right distances on a front-facing photo to get a 0–100 symmetry score and find your most uneven feature.
Fill in at least one left/right pair to see your score.
How do you test facial symmetry?
Take a front-facing photo: camera at eye level, neutral expression, head not tilted. Measure each pair below in any unit (pixels or millimetres both work) — only the left:right ratio is used, so the unit cancels out.
Is anyone perfectly symmetrical?
No. Every face carries 2–5% natural left-right difference, usually from chewing side, sleep position and bone growth. Under 3% is essentially invisible; it takes more than about 8% before people consciously notice. A score of 60–80 is therefore the normal human range, not a flaw.
Can asymmetry be improved?
Mild asymmetry is usually balanced visually with a hair parting, brow shaping and your photo angle. Moderate cases are often addressed with one-sided masseter injections or filler. Skeletal asymmetry (a deviated jaw) needs an orthognathic assessment. Measure first, then decide whether intervention is even worth it.
